Dear Families,

It is almost time for Spring Break, and the first of the year has gone by fast! After Spring Break, we are beginning testing "bootcamp" to prepare our students for statewide testing. Please encourage your students to take this time seriously so they can do their very best on the end of the year tests. I know they will do wonderfully.

Recently we had our 3rd Family Academic Night (FAN), focusing on cultures and countries across the world and relevant ELA standards. We had a great turn-out, lots of fun, and lots of learning. Many parents commented on how they felt like they traveled the world, and the food was delicious.

Thank you, also, for the great success of the Social Studies Fair and recent 6th grade field trip to the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe. Students learned about art and culture on their field trip to Santa Fe, and they performed excellently at the Social Studies Fair.

Continue to focus on 95% or above attendance, limiting tardies and unexcused absences. Good attendance directly correlates with academic success. Recently, we gave out certificates, a pencil, and an eraser to February 95% attendance students. Great work. Let's get even more on the awards list in March.

As we finish off Quarter 3 and move toward EOY testing in April and May, here are some dates to look out for:

  • April 3: Community School Easter Event

  • April 22, 2026: Earth Day clean-up

  • April 27 – May 1: Native American Week

I will include more dates as I finalize Quarter 4 events, and I thank students, teachers, parents, and staff working so hard all of Q3. Let's make it a great end of Q3 and a wonderful beginning of Q4! Happy Spring - a time of new beginnings, warm weather, and transitions. Winter is finally coming to an end. : )
