Dear Families,
Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome everyone back, and we are starting the year off with positivity. We ended December strongly, and our holiday activities were joyful and successful. Students performed amazingly and put on a wonderful show for the Winter Program. Thank you to all parents who came out and all who volunteered to help decorate.
It has been a great season of basketball, with some close and intense games. Shout-out to our TOE basketball players, coaches, and volunteers. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, and let's keep cheering our boys' and girls' teams on!
This month we are focusing on 95% attendance, and we will give Pizza 9 certificates for those who qualify for 95% attendance in the month of January. We want to encourage families to bring students on time each day and make sure they get plenty of sleep at night. The tardy bell is at 7:45 AM (M-W) and 8:45 AM (Th -F). Students who are on time and here daily have more opportunity for growth and future success. We appreciate you all for making Tohatchi Elementary the best. The following students have perfect attendance and will receive a $10 gift card and Pizza 9 certificate by the end of this week.

Today, 1/12/26, students were given 95% certificates, pencils, and stickers for December 2025 at TOE. Great work!
Finally, I wanted to congratulate teachers for generally positive MOY (Middle-of-the-year) iMSSA scores. TOE is showing general growth in Reading, Language, and Math across 3rd - 6th grades. We did wonderfully on reading, but for next steps, we need a more fine-tuned focus on Language and Math. As a staff, we are creating plans for intervention and refining teaching practices to best prepare students for end of the year and state testing. We are continuing to show growth, and that's what counts the most!
I will keep everyone posted on upcoming events on Class Dojo and upcoming newsletters, and I am looking forward to a prosperous January and happy New Year at TOE.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth Schools
